Menu planning Monday: Thanksgiving! (2011)

English: Bowl of red lentil soup.

This week, we have a birthday, which means pizza and wacky mac in these here parts. 🙂 We also have Thanksgiving, which we are out for. But I get to make my favorite part of the meal: dessert! And for Shabbat, we have that red, red pottage from the parsha!

As always, we keep breakfast and lunch flexible depending on what we’re in the mood for with the ingredients I keep on hand.

Breakfasts: Yogurt, cereal, and eggs (and fruit)

Lunches: Sandwiches, pizza bagels, and quesadillas (and a veggie)

Sunday: Pizza! (from a birthday party for ds-almost-5)

Monday: (Clean Out your Refrigerator Night) CORN (Shabbat leftovers: kugels, BBQ beef, salads.)

Tuesday: (Birthday dinner) Wacky Mac. Yes, really.

Wednesday: (Crockpot, using up frozen ground beef) Middle eastern meatloaf (from this recipe, Bli neder review to come)

Thursday: Thanksgiving! We’re out, but bringing chocolate lasagna and something else–maybe pumpkin spice cookies?

Friday: Challah, salads (roasted eggplant, hummus, pepper salad, olive tapenade, and zhug), red lentil soup, spice rubbed chicken, chocolate lasagna and cookies.

Shabbat lunch: Challah, salads, lentil dal with rice, taco salad, cookies.
