Ki Tisa (Ki Sisa): Resources and ideas

English: The Golden Calf, illustration from th...

In this week’s parsha, the Israelites each contribute a half shekel as a census. When Moshe is “late” returning from meeting with Hashem on Mt Sinai, the people make a golden calf to worship. Moshe pleads for their lives, and returns with the first luchot (the tablets on which the 10 commandments are written), which he smashes as he destroys the calf. Hashem himself inscribes the second set of tablets and Moshe’s face shines after seeing the holiness, so he covers his face.

This week’s parsha is kind of light–we’ve been pretty busy around here with a few different things, including Purim!
