Torah Home Education Conference review and resources

The 2012 Torah Home Education Conference in Baltimore was awesome. We got bags with coupons and a few goodies, saw some vendors and flipped through textbooks, met other homeschoolers and people considering it, and were generally encouraged and challenged. Plus, there was great food! Remember?

Uh-oh. Did you miss it?

If so, you missed my talk and the other great information that was given out. But don’t worry, you can still hear it all! All of the sessions were recorded, and the conference video archives are located here. For about $20, you can hear them all. Over and over again, if you want! I looked at myself on the computer a couple of times in my session, and I’m not sure the camera angle is so flattering, but I’m going to recommend them anyway. 🙂 The ones we sat in for we great, and we are looking forward to hearing the rest.

I can’t help you with the food you missed out on, though. You’re on your own for that. 😉

By the way, if you noticed a woman with a fussy one year old girl in the hallway between the rooms and trying to pop into sessions, or with a little girl tied into a back carrier and walking the hallway, that was probably me. My poor little daughter had a fever only for that day and screamed when I tried to drop her off downstairs for the baby care. I got called each time I tried. So she came up to listen in with me (although my wonderful dh held her during my session).

And I enjoyed meeting everyone! I got to meet the awesome Jennifer from Adventures in Mama-Land (we had the same super-cool host family). She is just as fun as she sounds on her blog, let me tell you. Plus we got to meet her two oldest kids, who were pretty fun, too.

I also met someone I’d e-mailed back and forth with a few times (Hi, Naomi!). And some wonderful people came up to talk to me after my session. I might write up one of those questions later for a post: how can you give equal time to your kids? And one woman got teary as we talked and I was touched by her emotion. We really work on making life better, both for them and us, and we invest a lot in them. And we sure are blessed by them!

What a great conference. I highly recommend it in the future!
