The biggest piece of this week’s parsha is the 70-line song delivered by Moshe on his last day. He says to remember Judaism throughout the generations, and ask elders how Hashem chose us and made us his own. Moshe warns against getting fat (with excesses) and spurning Hashem. In the end, Hashem will avenge our mistreatement and allow us to return.
Moshe is instructed the climb Mount Nebo to see the promised land before he dies.
This week, we are all pretty busy with preparations for Yom Kippur and beyond. If you’re looking for ideas, though, here are a few!
- Make diorama of Moshe’s view from Mount Nebo
- Here’s a more-kid friendly version of Moshe’s song
- Make some fruit sorbet with some of the fruit mentioned in this parsha
