Meet Amital 21

Hi, I’m Amital. Welcome to Organized Jewish Home!

I’m the mommy of five amazing small people: three boys (10, 8, and 5) and two little girls (3 and 1). I’m the wife of a wonderful dh. I homeschool my kids, I teach online classes at a college, and I have a PhD in psychology. I find it calming to organize and plan–getting things planned out helps me actually relax when I have some down time instead of worrying.

I have always worked toward simcha (joy) and shalom (peace) in my home by making lists and planning ahead. And that has worked for me – I’ve kept things flexible and changed it when it hasn’t worked. People asked how I do it and I’ve sent out copies of different checklists, info sheets, and other printables to show them. And after a dozen or so requests, Organized Jewish Home was born!

About Organized Jewish Home:

This site is focused on organizing and streamlining the work in an observant Jewish household. Anyone who is looking to plan their lives better can use what I write about here, though–take out what doesn’t apply to you. Just because my weekly planner page or goals worksheet works for me doesn’t mean it fits you as well–so change it!

I left all of the printables on this site as Word documents (and a few Excel) so anyone can easily download, view, and personalize them. I also do my best to provide links to other sources that might work for you in addition to providing my own. Personalizing these lists and plans is the key to getting them to work for you!

Just a few of my favorites:

  • An overview of my awesome laundry system (My ever-growing laundry load is so much easier to handle now!)
  • Parsha: a bunch of ideas for crafts, activities and food for EVERY weekly parsha – how cool is that?
  • AaBbCc spoons (busy bag): my most popular Pinterest hit

Disclaimer: Some links on Organized Jewish Home are affiliate links (I may get a very, very small monetary compensation).  All of my postings with affiliate links are about products or services that I have tried, liked, and feel are relevant to my readers.

I’d love to hear from you. What would you be interested in reading about? What do you need fresh ideas about? Please tell me what you think!

I look forward to reading more of your older posts. It seems like we are very much alike, too. Lists help me in so many ways. Even my husband uses the ones I have made! Thanks!

I saw your bio on the Torah Home Education Conference & immediately looked up your blog. I’m planning to homeschool my 11 year old son next year & I think I will gain much from your organizational & planning tips. Thank you!

I have really enjoyed reading your posts. I am a homeschool mom with 5 children. I am going to incorporate a lot of your organization lists, into my life. Thank you!

    Hi,

As you know, the Torah Homeschooling Conference in Baltimore is scheduled for Memorial Day weekend 2013 (May 24 – 28, after Shavuos).

We are assembling a binder full of information to hand out to attendees, and would like to include some blog postings to inspire the novice as well as veteran homeschool family, and perhaps open up the wide world of blogging to those who may be unfamiliar with it.

Your blog is always chok full of insights and ideas, so we’d like to ask if you might have a favorite something you’d like to submit for inclusion. Any topic would be welcomed , as long as it relates to Jewish homeschooling. Of course, if you know of any Jewish HS bloggers that we may not know of, please forward this message to them as well.

Deadline for submissions is Sunday, May 5th. Please contact me if you have any questions, or send your writing to me before that time so I can pass everything to the Binder committee in time to have it included.

    Many thanks!

Glad to have found this site. Were a Jewish homeschooling family in the south …. We do exist. We have been homeschooling for 9 years, 2 grads, 2 in process. Hoping this blog will be helpful to me in finding resources that make sense for my family. Thanks
