52 Week challenge week 17: Kitchen review and reset

I don’t know about you, but my kitchen still isn’t fully back to normal from Pesach yet. Mostly, but not fully there. How about you?

This week, I’m focusing on sorting through my kitchen. Time to take out what we don’t use in addition to putting things back and rearranging them. For example, our coffee maker doesn’t get used regularly, so it won’t be taking up the prime counter real estate that it used to. We’ve moved it off to the side and are appreciating the extra space. My parve and meat storage containers need to be organized, too.

Now if you haven’t cleaned out your refrigerator or oven recently (e.g. Passover!), or they are in need of it again, this is a good week to do it, too.

If you’re looking for some good ways to organize food storage containers, check here (this is part of a three part series on cooking containers that starts here.) These can get out of control easily, so developing a system of storing them that works for you is important to your kitchen’s functionality.

  1. Thank you so much for the link. It takes at least two weeks to get organized after Pesach. I think it’s also because I don’t keep any cooked goodies around to pull out at the last minute.
